The postgraduate bake off was formed to give the postgraduate students working throughout the holidays something to look forward to every week day. The competition was originally started during the November holidays before Christmas in 2019, however has morphed into occurring in the period following New Years and before the beginning of the University year. There is talk on starting a smaller competition where instead of a “bake off”, the food each person brings in will be specifically savory, possibly with a theme. The bake off involved participants baking one weekday of the chosen time period and then getting to reap the benefits of all other participants doing the same thing!
